Latisse If You Dare

                                                                     Don't Believe the Hype

So, I've been watching the commericals for Latisse and well, if you know me then you know I don't need this product. If my eyelashes get any longer I'll be tickling my forehead when I blink. Anyways, let me get to the point. If you've watched the commerical then you may have noticed that every single person on it has light eyes. The warning on the product is so understated it cracks me up. According to doctors who prescribe this drug to patients they clearly state they would NOT prescribe the drug to people with light eyes or light colored skin, due to the fact that the drug changes the color of your Iris and the color of your eyelids. Um, what? So, if you hate your blue eyes and the color of your eyelids, by all means, use the product.

The active ingredient in Latisse is bimatroprost, which is responsible for the new growth of eye lashes.  It is the same ingredient in one of Allergan’s other drugs, Lumigan, which is used to treat glaucoma.  Doctors found that Lumigan caused their patients’ eyelashes to become lush.  In clinical trials, Allergan confirmed this finding and created Latisse, which according to the Company has "mild" side effects. The inactive ingredients in Latisse include benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium phosphate, dibasic, citric acid and purified water.

“It is also possible for a difference in eyelash length, thickness, fullness, pigmentation, number of eyelash hairs, and/or direction of eyelash growth to occur between eyes. These differences, should they occur, will usually go away if you stop using LATISSE(TM),” as further stated in the drug literature.
The side effects listed are:
  • Turning patients’ irises brown.
  • Darkening of the eyelid.
  • Hair growth wherever Latisse “comes in repeated contact with the skin surface.”
  • Contamination of Latisse or its drug applicators, potentially causing bacterial infection.
  • Absorption into soft contact lenses of the chemical benzalkonium chloride, which is contained in Latisse.
  • Redness of the eye, itching sensation at the application site, eye irritation, and dryness in the eye are some of the common side effects of using Latisse.
  • There have been cases of the lashes falling, may be due to being allergic to one or many of the ingredients, in which case, it is best to discontinue use and seek medical help
CONS
  • The product takes a long time to work, as long as 4 months, to see any noticeable results.
  • Once you stop applying Latisse, your lashes immediately go back their original state.

Well, that is comforting. So either you could look like a model or a freak.

FDA Approves Latisse?! Let me tell you a little something about the FDA.

The FDA also approves Mineral Oil. What is Mineral oil? It is a byproduct of the distillation of gasoline from crude oil. Mineral oil is the leftover liquid, and because it is abundant, it is very inexpensive. In fact, it is more expensive to dispose of mineral oil because it's a toxic chemical, than it is to purchase it. So, they refine it and put in all of our products as FILLERS. Thanks FDA, glad you're looking out for us. Laughable.

What does Mineral Oil Really Do?

Mineral oil acts as a thin layer on the skin. It is difficult to absorb and clogs the pores, which slows the skin’s ability to eliminate toxins. Remember, the skin is the body’s largest organ and plays an important role in maintaining overall health! Once the oil is absorbed, it is broken down by the liver and passes through the intestinal tract, it will absorb all of the fat-soluble vitamins found there. It is essentially stealing important vitamins from the body, which the body will not be able to replace. This can eventually lead to nutritional deficiencies. Studies have also shown forms of pneumonia caused by mineral oil decreasing lung function, known as lipoid pneumonia. Because of these dangers, the medical community has condemned the use of mineral oil taken orally or as an ingredient in medications. And yet, it is in all of our products. From lotion all the way to cosmetics.

Now that you have things in perspective, let me ask you this. Would you feel better knowing you can still get an Eyelash Enhancing product that is safer and actually works? If you said Yes, Continue reading :)

  3. Well as per my knowledge it is just a wonderful and result oriented product, the only con it has is it takes 3 to 4 months in order to grow fuller eye lashes otherwise it has no side effect no cons instead and do not buy first copy or high copy, always buy the original latisse product.
